Have worked out I will have much more time to focus on my crafting if I got all the excess CRAP out of my house. This in turn will make housework faster and therefore more time for crafting! Also means, Theoretically, my sewing table wont get buried under stuff all the time....
Now I have posted this, I will have to stick too it, will do some before and after posts, and after each room will post some crafty goodness too!

Damn Earthquakes
Well, told myself I was going to spend my free hour yesterday before I picked the kids up from preschool getting some photos up here... Unfortunately Mother Nature dislikes it when I make plans.
At 1pm we had a 5.5mag quake, which was a fair bit of rocking and rolling. went straight for the kids. Got home to find glass everywhere (told myself it was time to tie the cupboards shut) the chairs thrown everywhere, half my notion boxes on the floor. Hubby got home a few minutes before me.
We had just finished tidying up and were about to flick the kettle on when at 2.20pm a 6.0Mag hit... well things were flying everywhere, and we were scrambling up the hallway trying to get to the kids in the lounge at the other end of the house... running when shaking is that strong results in tripping over, being thrown into things and each other.
Kids were fine although a bit scared. Ditto us. House was fine. Our 1000 litre rainwater tank came off it's stand, although thankfully it's still in one piece and still full, so we have clean drinking water. Power came back on just before 6pm, about 5 mins before I finished cooking dinner on the camp stove in the dark (Winter here!)
Heard from my family, they are all ok, My Nana is a bit shaken, her house has been flooded again by liquefaction.
Another night of rocking a rolling, but today is a new day and the people of Christchurch will continue to plod on.
Will post about some of my finds on our Wellington holiday another day.

Hello to all my visitors!!!
Hi everyone, welcome to my blog. Please excuse the lack of posting, I'm hoping to get some pictures up tonight before the Sew, mama, sew giveaway goes up.
The reason for the barrenness of my blog is simple, I live in Christchurch, NZ, Last september, we were rudely awoken at 4.35am by a magnitude 7.1 earthquake. This resulted in many people losing their jobs and homes. Thankfully no one was killed. We lost our home, and thanks to family & friends for taking us in, and to my Husbands work for paying for us to stay in a hotel for a week, we got through and found a new home for our family.
Feb 22, Tuesday 12.51pm, it happened again, worse this time. 6.3 magnitude, with power twice earths gravity. The CBD crumbled, carparking buildings pancaked. 188 people lost their lives.
I will post about my experiences with the quakes another time. But it is something that has effected us all. Today is 3 months since the Feb quake, my giveaway item will have some symbolisim towards this, as it has become our life here.
Thanks for reading!
